Diana and Matt are Married!

This is my sister-in-law Diana and her new hubs, Matt! Aren't they fabulous? They got married when we were up in Utah for Christmas break. We ended up taking their pictures on Christmas day because I was too sick to get up there any earlier and they were too busy to do it any other day!

It was fa-reeeee-zing that day, so good thing Diana had her snow queen cape, which I thought was completely gorgeous for the pictures.

Emma came with me and had the time of her life being my assistant photographer, complete with her own camera. I was amazed at some of her photos and ended up editing some of them to use!

Her toes were so frozen, but she was tough in her little strappy heels! :)

Annie's Maternity Shoot {AZ Maternity Photographer}

This shoot made me wish I could do maternity shoots ALL the time! Oh, it was so fun and they were so adorable and photogenic...

We did the shoot at her godmother's house in Flagstaff, which was the cutest house with so much character, so I loved that too. And she brought two quilts she made herself, some stuffed animals, and books because he reads to the baby all the time. I couldn't get over how adorable they were. So as you can see by the billions of pictures, I couldn't narrow it down to just a few to share on here. Enjoy!

Do you see why I love what I get to do? I can't wait for baby pictures in February!

Mini Session Update

I've switched one of my mini session dates from October 22 to the following Saturday, Oct 29th, and I have 2 slots open for that day. I also have one slot left for November 19.

I'll be doing two mini session days this fall, tentatively scheduled for the mornings of October 22 and November 19. I'm open to location suggestions. Mini sessions will be $175 for 30 minutes of shooting and 15-20 images on a CD.

I'll also be available for full sessions (regular pricing applies, see website) a few Saturday mornings in October and November, some Thursday mornings, and possibly a few Wednesday evenings. I don't want to overschedule because these three don't like me spending all day editing.

Now that (most of) my sanity has returned, I'm excited to jump back into photography and see some of my old clients...especially the ones I had to cancel on last fall when I went on bed rest! I was looking through my website this morning and got so excited about creating more beautiful images soon!

I'm back from my maternity leave! ...and my first photo shoot was an old friend from school days! I was so excited to do these, in Flagstaff, in the FREEZING cold! I got to wear my hat and gloves, but these two totally braved the FIFTEEN degree weather! And it was worth it, I'd say...they turned out great. (Also I was relieved to see that I do actually remember how to use a camera after about five months off!!

I can't wait for the wedding!

P.S. I just realized I forgot to watermark these with my logo. Nobody steal them! I don't want to go back and do it!! :)

My Pretty Girl

Here's the beautiful reason I've been off duty for a few months...

Annie Kay was born November 2 and is just perfect!
I'm lucky to have a sister-in-law/best friend who came to help me out through the end of my pregnancy, labor, and post partum experience...who just happens to be a photographer.

Miss Annie is already 2 months old...here are a couple I took more recently!

As for my availability now...I'm having a hard time imagining ever getting back to as much work as I was doing before Annie. I have a 16-month old and a 2-month old at home now, and not much gets done around my house. It's one thing to go and do a photo shoot; quite another to actually get them edited and posted. I have a very limited amount of non-baby-time, and lots of that time is already spoken for!
So I'll be getting back to this veeeeerrry gradually. I did raise my prices recently, and quite honestly that's partially to make it more worthwhile to me, and partially to cut down on jobs. I'm sad to see any of my clients have to go to someone else, but my family has to come first.
I look forward to seeing some of you in the coming months for shoots!

Just to give you an idea of how excited I was about these pictures, I took them on Saturday morning and finished editing them Monday afternoon. I NEVER do that. Usually I take a week or so to just get around to it, but I was so excited...I got to do band photos and they were awesome! These guys did so great with their posing and expressions. I am completely in love with these pictures, and not just because this is my BEST friend with her new fiance! It's so funny how people will tell me they're not photogenic, but you get them in front of the camera and its like, BAM! Modelicious!! Oh, and it was so fun to be in a new location--obviously I'm not doing photos around the valley right now, so this is the fabulous Snowflake!

And yes, obviously, I couldn't only choose a few...I loved so many of them!!

Arizona Children's Photographer: Garrett

Garrett is growing up! I took his newborn pictures and it's always so fun to see how they're growing up and still being so cute! And his mom was so prepared with props (the white bench), two outfits, and toys to get his attention...it was SO helpful! We took these at the Mesa Arts Center, and then went over to the Arizona Children's Museum to get out of the heat and I got a few over there, but not many indoor photos can compete with outdoors. Natural light is just SO fabulous!

If you want photos done before it gets hot, now's the time to do it! You have about two months before it hits the hundreds, and once it does I won't be doing outdoor sessions again until October! If you have an indoor location, we can do it anytime, but I'll probably not be doing photo shoots outside once it's over 95. So hurry and take advantage of our beautiful weather!

I got to photograph the smiliest one-year-old today! He was heavenly....he gave me some of the cutest smiles I have ever seen! I just had to share a couple that I did tonight because I couldn't wait to start on them!

Arizona Wedding Photographer: Jessica and Paul Engagement

This was the best engagement shoot ever. Not only were these two completely gorgeous and photogenic; they were also absolutely HILARIOUS and so much fun. They came up with their own ideas and poses, and did some of the funniest things. So here are some of the serious ones and some of the funny ones.

These bench ones may be my favorites...first they just acted like strangers, then they asked some strangers to be in the photos with them.
And here's the "inappropriate sign" they told me they HAD to get a photo with.
I seriously cannot wait for their wedding now that I know how much fun they are to work with!

Shoots With Jen

My sister Jen came here last weekend! She's a photographer in Utah, but had a few shoots here in AZ so I went along with her on a couple! It was fun to be able to work on my "technique" and play around without being responsible for the outcome! :) So here are a few great ones I got at those shoots:

First, engagements for Guinevere and Jeff...these two were amazing! So natural and way cute.
Then I piggybacked for Marja's photo shoot. She's only 13 but she's pretty much ready for a modeling career.
The last night she was here, Jen and I played around with indoor lighting and took some pretty cool pictures of each other! So here's my beautiful sister Jen!

I think one of my favorite parts of newborn photography is the dads...they are so attentive and have their own special ways.

This was one of those sessions where it was hard to choose just a few...I love it!
